It’s crazy when I ruminate about why I train so hard, considering I do not compete and at this seasoned stage in training experience (almost 19yrs) I no longer have a desire to get bigger (up top for sure, wouldn’t mind ‘slightly’ bigger quads though 😅) yet and still I train with passion and conviction, why?
I lift this way because I just couldn’t enjoy it any other way. I love the challenge, I love pushing myself, I love each and everyone one of those eye popping, teeth clenching, vein bursting reps, training for me just wouldn’t be the same without that.
It’s funny because to those without the love for training to increase ones strength and/or improve ones physique, what we do can seem so coarse and brutish, in the mainstream media we are seldom taken seriously, often used in jest, I get it, the stereotypes do exist.
I am not trying to make lifting weights to be anything more that it physically is, but there is an emotional connection many of us have that goes much deeper. Honestly I just really love lifting and I want to share that passion with as many people as possible.
