Someone’s trash is someone’s treasure. A lot of people discard yellow jack as being a “trash fish”. It’s actually one of my favorite for sashimi and seared on a grill! Diversity in what you’re eating is key. Ask your fishmonger to suggest new specifies for you to try. You’ll discover something new and help release pressure on common species! 📷 @legenderryaustin

@valentinethomas this looks delicious. Cannot wait to do this myself. I’m on the gulf side of Florida and we have some bacteria issues going on recently. I’ll be heading down to key west in September to spearfish for the first time. Totally amped. Have you seen any YouTube videos by Key West Kayak Fishing? He has some entertaining catch and cooks you might enjoy.

Never tried one, hear they are good though. They look kind of like an amberjack. Growing up with eat everything including amberjack which aren’t that bad if you take the smaller ones and eat them fresh or smoke them, you just have to keep an eye out for worms. I have eaten jack crevalle too, not very good though.

Warning! Yellow jack tastes like old shoes. 👞 Please leave them alone for me and I’ll continue eating them. I’ve grown accustom to their terrible taste. 🤣

Shooting yellow jacks in the Bahamas is the fastest way to have ten to twenty reef sharks on your ass haha

The chef at my workplace says " all fish are good to eat if they are seasoned and cooked properly"
