The Meili Snow Mountains: Kawagebo Peak is Yunnan's highest and most sacred. Though attempts have been made, it has never been successfully climbed and many have died trying. And since 2001, a law was passed banning any future attempts on cultural and religious grounds. Tibetans believe disaster will follow if humans set foot on its peak. mountain.lights @yamashitaphoto Great capture!!! But the mountain in the image is the Mianzimu peak (aka Miancimu), 6054m. The summit of Kawakarpo (aka Kawa Garbo or Kawagebo), 6740m, is about 13km NNW, being the main summit of the sacred Meili Xue Shan range.
