Life has a way of bringing the perfect people into your orbit.
Six years ago I received a tweet from @visitjordan inviting me to come to the Middle East. I accepted the invite from a total stranger and brought my girl @nbordges with me for good measure.
I never thought that this trip would change the course of my life and yet there it is.
I met these two Jordanian princesses - or Arabian pumpkins as Nicole likes to call them - and somehow the four of us bonded as if we had been best friends separated at birth.
From that time on, we have hung out in four different countries together, been through love and loss and growing up together. I feel so lucky to have such smart women to discuss and try to understand complicated global issues like religion, and especially how the actions of our respective governments affect each other‘s day to day lives.
That’s the magic of travel and being open to connecting with other human beings no matter how similar or different their backgrounds are from ours.
We can learn so much from each other and together make our worlds better bit by bit.
Lina, Lana (and Nicole), my life is so much richer for knowing you! Can’t wait to see what happens next. 💗

I made friends with someone who sat next to me on a flight from Washington DC to South Africa. Our plane had a stop in Senegal where he got off, but we exchanged info and still talk to this day. He has since moved back home to Senegal and I hope to make it there someday to visit! Some of the best parts of travel are meeting the people that live in these great places!

I did Volli work at a summer school for underprivileged kids in Thailand in 2012 and met a guy from Vienna we became close and we text often although him in Vienna and me in Australia is hard but we managed. Hi to you and Seamus from Australia 🇦🇺 when are you going to visit Australia? 🇦🇺💓😃💓
