Fact: Understanding Infection
An infection is a host organism’s response to a pathogen, or a disease-causing substance. It results when tissue-destroying microorganisms enter and multiply in the body. Some infections take the form of minor illnesses, such as colds and ear infections. Others result in a life-threatening condition called Sepsis, which causes widespread vasodilation and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS). The infection process occurs when the body’s defence mechanisms break down or when certain properties of microorganisms, such as virulence or toxic production, override the defence system. Other factors that create a climate for infection include: Poor Nutrition, Stress, Humidity, Poor Sanitation, Crowded Living Conditions, Pollution, Dust, Medications that comprise the immune system and hospitalisation (health-care associated infection). Infection results when the pathogen enters the body through direct contact, inhalation, ingestion, or an insect or animal bite. The pathogen then attaches itself to a cell and releases enzymes that destroy the cell’s protective membrane. Next it spreads through the bloodstream and lymphatic system, finally multiplying and causing infection in the target tissue or organ. Infections that strike people with altered, weak immune systems are called opportunistic infections Cohen (2011), Porth (2009), Scott (2010), Herlihy (2010), Bickley (2011). Fact: Infectious Mononucleosis
An acute infectious disease, infectious mononucleosis has three hallmarks. Fever, Sore Throat and Swollen Cervical Lymph Glands. It may also cause liver dysfunction, increased numbers of lymphocytes and monocytes, and the development and persistence of heterophil antibodies. Infectious mononucleosis mainly affects young adults and children, although it is usually so mild in children that it is commonly overlooked. Infectious mononucleosis is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus, a member of the herpes virus group. It is spread by the oropharyngeal route, however blood transfusions and surgery is also a transmission route as well. The disease is contagious and it is important that active virus holders are treated quickly. The disease causes a fever as the virus invades the B cells of the oropharyngeal lymphoid tissues and then replicated them. As the B cells die, the virus is released into the blood, causing fever and other symptoms. During this period, antiviral antibodies should appear unless the individual suffers from an impair immune system. Reproduction of the virus occurs in the parotid gland, accounting for its presence in salvia. It is a disease that is a killer and is mainly overlooked by most people. The transmission via salvia can be passed on via unwashed tea and coffee cups and mugs as well as evidence has proven Cohen (2011), Scott (2010), Marieb and Hoehn (2012).

Fact: Sepsis is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Sepsis is a life threatening organ dysfunction caused by a catastrophic dysregulated host response to infection. The Brain Blood Barrier (BBB) whose function is to protect the central nervous system (CNS) from pathogens and toxic threats is compromised. Breaching of the BBB leads to significant alterations of consciousness and reduction in neurocognition. Involvement of the CNS results in Sepsis-Induced brain dysfunction, which is manifested clinically by a neuropsychiatric continuum starting in an acute confusional state and ultimately coma Kuperberg and Wadgaonkar (2017). The Hippocampus leaves camp and goes for a paddle and is a key site of involvement for inflammatory mediators and altered synaptic function and plays a key role in the pathogenesis of Septic Acquired Encephalopathy. During Sepsis or haemorrhagic shock, a hyperinflammatory state develops that is referred to Systematic Inflammatory Responses (SIRS). Development of Sepsis is associated with a catastrophic dysregulated inflammatory response, together with a shift in the redox balance between the oxidant state, followed by development of SIRS, Multi Organ Failure and Septic Shock, suggesting that the regulation of inflammatory responses is defective Bosmann and Ward (2012). Thank god Liam for this release. Been listening loads of times in Spotify since you put it on. In the other hand, something called This is the place I listened 10 seconds and turned off.

It’s funny now when I hear the lyric “you only get to do it once” cos I’ve listened to this song everyday, since it’s release..
I’ve never been into it like this since Be Here Now @🍺

Better than your bro but still boring as fuck. Why don’t you get J Squire to put down the brushes and write a banging album together, recruit Mani and....someone else👍🏻❤️
