By the time we took the items out and realized many of them were not working in our space (like the bathroom light that is too big to fit between the medicine cabinet and the ceiling, the nightstands that are way too small, the living room rug that is too shaggy, etc.), they were no longer easy to return. When you work with Home Polish, you purchase everything through their client interface. It’s called the “Home Polish Concierge.” This means I am not listed on the orders as the one who purchased the items and cannot deal with the companies directly. Everything must be done through the concierge. One of the things Home Polish promises as part of their “Peace of Mind Guarantee” is seamless returns, even if you just don’t like the item. In the case of the living room rug, even though we had it in storage for awhile, it had never been used and I noticed it was still being sold on the company site at full price. Months ago, before Home Polish cut off contact to us entirely, I wrote to the concierge asking to see if I could at least get credit for an exchange. This is the email we received back from Home Polish: “This item was delivered on August 28th and is significantly outside [rug company’s] 30-day return or exchange policy. I have been negotiating on your behalf, but [rug company]’s policy is firm, and they will not accept the rug back. I am very sorry for the inconvenience!” Flash forward several nightmarish months later and I am now working with a new design firm to redo everything. I asked @studiointeriordesign if they could call the same company, advocate on my behalf and see if they could make the rug exchange. One phone call later and it was done! Rug returned.
