howetravels Every other summer my kids are "camp kids".... One for 6 wks in NY, the other for 4 in Northern AZ..... The opposite summer it's major vacation. I spend a lot of time with my 7th grader who goes to NY bc I bring her to auditions in NYC then we stay another day or 2. I took the kid who's the 4 weeker to Iceland this summer- mom/son trip. My husband and 7th grader went to Gwen Stefani in Vegas this summer!

kam1038 I just wanted to come here to say that I love your big kids content these days. I’m kind of afraid that I’ll only like the “baby/toddler” parts of parenting but you’re shedding such a fun light on the big kid stage. I love seeing how your girls navigate the world and your relationship with them change over time. It is really helping me be more excited for that stage of my life! Thank you💛

quarterpastnun @mommyshorts I’m happy to read this. All the second child knows is life sharing mom and dad with the older sibling. Which of course is fine but it makes one on one time with them so special. I’m looking forward to the ditch day I promised my 6yo when big sis goes to 5th grade science camp this year.

ashllu @shellyannp totally agree. My daughters are 6 and 7 and my husband thinks sleepover camp would be a great experience for them next year, I think they’re still too young, but one year I will probably send them if my heart can take it. Congrats to your daughter and good luck to you!

shellyannp @ashllu ohhhh. I’m actually with you. I sent mine at 8 for the first time. And then only for two weeks. Those baby summers are everything. I worked outside the home though, so I didn’t get to have all the fun. Do what feels right to you and hubby! ❤️❤️

melody.m.h @kam1038 Oh the big kid stage can be SO GOOD. And hard. But fun and hilarious and independent and sarcastic and silly. And they SLEEP. We still have hard emotional days as we head into tween years, but it’s been one of my favorite stages so far!
