my parents love to tell me over and over that when i was a kid, i used to break down crying if i ever colored outside the lines in my coloring book. i haven’t yet had the pleasure of unpacking all of what that means with the right therapist, but i’m sure that when i do it will probably explain a lot.

today on my blog @wethedreamers I’m sharing my thoughts on the neverending process of overcoming perfectionism (spoiler alert: I am not an expert nor have I successfully overcome it yet). It seems like in today’s culture, it’s basically written within our code to strive to be perfectionists and to believe that’s the best way to be. And I have pretty much spent my entire life trying to unlearn that.

I never tried to pretend to be "perfect" I struggled to be loved or appreciated , I wasn't good at art as a kid and so I got into abstract , then putting in my own flare into it and my heart and it ended up becoming appreciated , after I started skating at 12 and a half I developed my own identity and learned kindness , confidence , how to be a good friend it led me into poems , and better story writing I also embraced my weirdness and by doing so it brought upon creativity into all areas , guitar , harmonica , skateboarding , poems , stories , and drawing , and dancing and singing :)
