Jenni and the girls have book club, the lads and I have scotch club. While our livers could not tolerate monthly meetings, we aim for quarterly gatherings. Tonight we are celebrating the advance copy of host David Quammen's forthcoming book Spillover-Animal infection and the next human pandemic. The books looks into Ebola, AIDS and similar diseases that have spilled over from animals to humans. Syphilis is one of the first to be recorded and treated. Promises to be a good read. In the mean while, we going to have a wee dram or two of Oban. Nice to home after ten weeks of adventure.
