In her new short story, “This Is Pleasure,” Mary Gaitskill addresses the #MeToo movement; as she explains in an accompanying interview, her feelings on the subject are "too complicated and contradictory” for nonfiction. The story shifts between the perspectives of a prominent editor, who has lost his job after being accused of sexual harassment, and his close friend Margo, who has long been aware of his behavior. “I say, yes, he acted badly. I was angry at him, too,” Margo narrates. “But did he deserve to lose his job, his right to work, his honor as a human? Did he have to be so completely and utterly crushed?” Tap the link in our bio to read the full story, the most recent installment in the New Yorker Novella series. Illustrations by @manshenlo.

Too late now to feel sorry after so many lives have been destroyed for one indiscretion or sometimes for fabricated situations, just to please the incompetent and the jealous cowards of our society ?all of this action by the Internet fuel history will have a greater repercussion in every body’s future than people can realize. Pay back comes in double fold. Just wait and see that when one destroys lives its life gets also destroyed it is the law of the universe, don’t think that just because you ride behind a fake profile you are safe your conscious will punish you?

Yes. Employment in your chosen profession is a privilege, not an entitlement. Someone who would choose to harass a colleague *deserves* to lose that privilege, as much as he would if he embezzled from his employer. Business is that black and white, period. And this “friend’s” feelings do not matter. Sorry (not sorry!) ?

I finally got a choice of a passive income and stopped depending on my ridiculous paycheck of $1200, I’m currently trading binary options with @Luispatrick5 earning $4135 from $500 investment within 12days very encouraging. Passive income just got started, special appreciation to @Luispatrick065

Sorry but don't need any fancy thoughts on this topic. There's a um, dainty amount of nuance and depth in having a coworker's hand running up the inside of your thigh while a female colleague explains that you have to watch out for him.

Oh that premise is something so much like a high profile #metoo case that forced out an editor in my country. And his “highly reputed” woman friend who stood up for him exactly like that!

Did said Margo ever question whether her fictional pal only got his exalted position in the first place due to his gender, race, and connections? Didn’t think so.
