Production of the #Volkswagen #Beetle, the longest-running car in automotive history, is ending after 8 decades. On Wednesday, the last Beetle rolled off the line at Volkswagen’s sprawling assembly plant in Mexico.
.
For Mexico, the halt to Beetle production marks an end of an era. The VW factory is the only one in the world still manufacturing classic models and making modern ones. It is estimated that over 17,000,000 cars were produced.
.
"It's an attractive car with a lot of personality," David Álvarez, a businessman from a neighboring Mexico state, said. Click the link in our bio to read more.

I loved our Beetle, I learned to drive in my parents Beetle, my husband rebuilt our Beetle's engine in the living room of our married students apartment at Rutgers University. Great memories of our Beetles!

I’m sad. My daughter has one. We love it. She’s never getting rid of it.

That’s a bummer. They are super cute. I always wanted a vintage one.
