An unfiltered IG presence launched @LPA designer @piabaroncini‘s career. Then one very bad sweatshirt prompted Twitter to briefly ‘cancel’ her. Now, she’s changing her approach to being online—what she calls, "selling a vibe." "You're like, 'I like that. I'd fuck with that brand. I do want to buy that blouse, because that girl's funny.'” Link in bio for the full story.

@piabaroncini is more than a resurrection story, she’s publicly lived the standard trials and tribulations of running a business, we are the trailblazers of having a microscope on the minutia of our process, and we are bound to fuck up and weather judgement for it. And now let me get on my soap box ?; I feel as strong business women we have a responsibility as both creatives and company owners to stand up for what we believe in, to challenge the ossified nature of our environment - to speak, facilitate, support, and encourage creation that's dynamic within it. And you never do that without personal risk, you never do it without offending somebody, you never do it without vulnerability, failure, and rejection because you’re always speaking into an environment of judgment, competition, or some perceived threat. That risk is vital to the artistic process, it's vital to navigating the uncharted waters of running a business, it’s intrinsic to everything we do that matters. In that vulnerability we can become excitedly uncomfortable in one another’s existence and struggle, and within that, you create a site where you can become truly present and alive. That’s what it’s about. You create a landscape where people can support each other, and feel comfortable not always knowing the answer, or not always being right or correct. And maybe have some fun in the process. And at the end of the day, she made something beautiful out of nothing, take it or leave it, she’ll still keep going.

Great article! I enjoyed reading about @piabaroncini journey to success. Yes she made missteps along the way but who hasn’t? I don’t think she should be “cancelled” for the sweatshirt debacle. Every brand/ boss/ person has growing pains. And it takes major gumption to continue to have a witty, relevant, consistent voice on social when your life is falling apart behind the scenes.

@eunji_fr @typh.ahh.nee but it was meant to reflect comments a plus sized model received and promote being comfortable in your own body despite ppls judgement....revolve modeled it on a skinny girl but it was originally modeled on the plus size model...

@emvburen how was it rightful if it was a mistake? People are so quick to dismiss others as if mistakes don’t happen
