Photo by @クリス・バーカード | In between Iceland and Norway lies a chain of 18 volcanic islands that make up the self-governing archipelago of the Faroe Islands. Here, sweeping green valleys meet dramatic, steep cliffs. They’re remote and untouched to a degree that’s hard to explain without experiencing them for yourself. In 2007, National Geographic declared them “the most unspoiled islands in the world.” We came in search of waves and were blown away by how true to its roots the area was. Encountering other people was rare.
