On a boys trip with my middle son @adefrantirye down in Cancun/Tulum, Mexico a week off from the #stayhumantour for a few days of talking/playing/swimming/talking/eating/talking. Today we visited the Mayan ruins near Tulum and swam in the #Cenote Caves at #casatortuga.
History and fun at the same time. Just the way we like to roll!!! We’ve met so many nice people here, Mexicans, as well as American citizens (who are visiting this beautiful country like we are). It saddens me and pisses me off that America has become so hurtful towards people coming from south of our border seeking a better way of life or even just visiting, while travelers from the US continue to flock here and set up homes and businesses here. I believe that the experience of people crossing borders can lead to greater understanding of each other, less fear and more openness to share the bounty of our planet, our cultures and people. Let’s bring about a brighter future for families and be supportive of one another’s individual and collective struggles. I have been going to the Yucatán for decades and now I have decided I can’t do it anymore with my American passport because I am too embarrassed to step across the border while we are being jerks on our side of the border. Mexico is a sister to me. I am saddened to feel this way. Tulum is changing too- not necessarily for the good either- it use to be a sweet beach community with an authentico vibe and now it’s a little too so cal for me. And we did that. We demand our needs and they bend over backwards to supply- (the Italians too there) and then we stick their babies in detention centers while we decide if they can come clean our house or lay our bricks for us. So f’d up. Lo siento Mexico. I pray enough people wake up and demand change. And thank you MF for speaking out all the time on these issues. You say it in right way. Deep bow🙏

livingoutsidethezoo First off, love that area around Tulum so much. Diving the cenotes was a life highlight. My family & I are leaving Dillon, CO in s few months for a year of RV travel through Mexico and Central America. We hope to educate those “back home” about the amazing people and culture south of our borders! Always love your message and hope to spread our own! ✌️
