That pretty much sums it up. And big changes, especially those of life and death, have a way of shaking up the foundation. The mirages, the trivial and anything that doesn’t beget vitality, fall in between the cracks and the prominent parts of life that give our days meaning suddenly rise to the forefront. If anything, my biggest takeaway is what do to with my time, choices, energy and priorities. Nothing is flippant or mindless in this particular season. Boundaries are ever more crucial to define and live. Self-care and nurturing core relationships take precedent over all else. What once seemed rude to decline or not tend to outside of that is revealed as being healthy and whole. There’s that wise saying that you can’t be everything for everyone, and attempting that path will only run one down into the ground. This is why I’ve set limits with time online or elsewhere. We only have so much to give and spend with where we choose to invest it. I want to make sure I’m choosing wisely with the precious gift I’m given, the gift of today, the only day we are promised. . . In light of that, I’m enjoying some down time to process the events of the week (see my previous post). Whatever each of you are walking through, whether light or weighty, I hope that the weekend brings you moments that touch your heart. Cheers, everyone.
