Watching (and filming) my son Keegan try 360 flips down 7 stairs today was a stark reminder of what I put my parents through as a “determined” teen. He was not going to give up until his body ultimately wore out (or if I forcibly removed him from the premises?). I was trying to be encouraging while giving subtle hints that it was time for us to leave. We finally had to go because he was exhausted (and we were late to get on the road), but on the way back I could feel his frustration, disappointment and ultimate resolve that he will conquer it another day. These are the life lessons that will endure, and I’m thankful to see them from the other side now.
Unrelated: I got a thing coming out on @The Berrics soon. It might surprise you.

Try it in the streets Keegan! U can do it??? btw I met ur son the other day playing a Gig and he wasn’t a dick at all like some skaters... I’m glad there’s pro skaters with such a good attitude towards life in general like him out there?

As I’m watching this, I’m saying, “Stay forward, stay forward Keegan! Come on, you got it!!” Only to realize it’s the same shot over and over ?? you’ll get it Keegan. Next time watch. 1st try.

He's like a mini you but with his own unique twist, do you find it funny how you're now the supportive parent? It's like a never ending cycle! ?@tonyhawk

From what I remember of your Dad from your autobiography he would have said that you weren't going home till you'd done it. Several times!! Lol ?? ?

I love how encouraging you are as a dad. It’s awesome. The pride you take in your kids and the way you so obviously enjoy them is go great.

Nah, a good parent would encourage safety and tell him to wear a helmet. Looking cool doesn't prevent brain injuries
