There was an annual 4th of July event in the neighborhood where I grew up (Tierrasanta, San Diego) that included a “bike decoration” contest. My dad helped me during the bicentennial (1976) and we came up with this monstrosity. I remember having to walk it there because the balloons and gift wrap (!) rendered it useless. Happy 4th! Here’s to parents embarrassing their kids; it is a tradition I am proud to pass along.

We also have the same tradition of celebrating independence day. In Indonesia we have a decorating bycle competition? the more you make your bycle looks 'fancy' the more you have a chance to win? *sorry for my English*

That’s an AWESOME photo of you from the Tierrasanta days! When I was in Farb JR high we looked up the old year books and found you. We’re all stoked and totally fanning out. Lol! I still fan out when I see you. ???

@tonyhawk You ever skate the tiny skatepark they added about 20 years ago in the navy housing there? It's the tiniest park in the world but me and my friends used to have a blast there messing around after sessions

Tony I know it was you who killed my father, there is enough evidence to put you away for years. My lawyers will be in contact with you very soon so keep your ears open, my fathers death will not go unpunished.

@tonyhawk I lived in Murphy Canyon in 1976! It was a great time to be a kid in the early era of skateboarding. I remember a skateboarding demo in our neighborhood around that time frame, maybe you were there!

Oh but mother, I don’t want to ride the pink bicycle.. Shut up Tony!!! You will never do something masculine to impress me. End of story. 20 years later lands the first 900.
