@brado_munn Agreed. People say the MoCo better get with the times and forge some new heritage. HD does it and then they're decried for forgetting their heritage. They can't win. I bet some of the people complaining live in the rust belt or other places where automation/outsourcing has killed untold jobs. @harleydavidson is doing what it can given the situation. Ridership overall is down, and many new/returning riders are buying used. HD did great by making reliable scoots, but it's those same scoots that are eating into their new bike sales. It's a vicious cycle. I'm excited for the new models. I never considered an ADV before seeing the PanAmerica. I can't ride aggressive position bikes, but the Streetfighter and new 1200 look sick. I'd love to see the 1200 modular brought down to a 500cc size and replace the Street line.
And so true about Kodak. I live in Rochester. It's a crying shame what they did to that company. ?

@throttlefiendmoto i disagree,the reason i said what i said,is because harley has built a brand based on nostalgia for the last 116 years. Now they are trying to change their base product, tell people what they should want instead of listen to the consumer. Change is good unfortunately they arnt going in the right direction. As for EV an electric option sure for the soy boys that want that. But harley is people ALOT of eggs in the EV basket. Which in turn is dumb the auto manufatures are finding ways to make cleaner running engines, that sip less fuel and make more power. There are some many very cool new technologies that are popping up. Things like cam less motors(solenoid activated valves),variable valve lift, variable valve timing, variable compression engines, direct inj. Etc... not to mention alternative fuels.... so as for EV you may see more but it will never be the only option there is.

You do you, @harleydavidson. Too many people think this is a zero sum game. They don't understand that you can have an EV bike AND offer M8 bikes. They also don't understand this is a HALO bike. It's too expensive for my tastes, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great bike. Beyond excited for what the MoCo is going to do in the future. Here's to another century. ?????

@drunken_possum you very smart cookie mr. possum. You know much about engineering, metallurgy, marketing, and nostalgia. I’m now assuming you are an intelegent person. So, they are struggling with the base of which you speak. I’m 63yr’s old, and have seen the decline of interest in people of this age.

I don’t understand all the negativity? I have a 92 Electra glide sport which runs like a champ and has a carb but I don’t think it is bad for Harley to explore and be at the top of technology. They certainly don’t want to be “Kodak”. Just because they have a product doesn’t mean “you” have to buy it?♂️

Try making a rideable and affordable Harley that the next gen can ride. I'm in my 30s and just bought a triumph bobber because I can't afford to keep fixing my 86 electraglide. I was stoked about the livewire, then heard it will be 35k+. Umm no.
