At 15, Cori Gauff (@cocogauff) just defeated one of her #tennis idols, @ビーナス・ウィリアムズ, in 6-4, 6-4 sets during the first round at Wimbledon on July 1. Gauff, who goes by “Coco,” is the youngest player to qualify for the tournament and, @espn notes, the youngest woman to win a match there since 1991. Her #🎾 career began at age eight. At 13, Gauff was the youngest to reach the U.S. Open girl’s final. Two years later, she became the youngest female to win in a qualifying match at the French Open. Gauff follows in the footsteps of Venus and @セリーナ・ウィリアムズ, who her family and coaches credit for paving the path for a young black teenage girl. Read more about Gauff at the link in bio. Congrats little mama. I foresee my little girl playing you in the future. She’s hitting the boot camp ASAP. You can do anything if you put your mind to it. ??

@mafetronchoni it’s her story. She elaborated it’s (race) importance on NPR and likely other news media.
