Explosive charges blow up the eastern pylons of the Morandi Bridge in Genoa, #Italy, on June 28. Its partial collapse last August killed 43 people and injured dozens more. Minutes before the blasts at 9:37 a.m., local time, sirens blared and hoses sprayed water to reduce the dust, @apnews reports. About 3,500 people who live nearby were evacuated earlier as a precaution. The resulting blasts caused the roadway to “crumble like a sandcastle,” the AP added.
