Photograph by @PaulNicklen | As a bush pilot who has landed on all sorts of interesting, off-strip runways, I sure am glad that I never had to look at anything like this. 300,000 black-browed albatross exist on this one island in the Falkland Islands. With their 8-foot wingspans and ungainly walking ability, these massive birds need a good stiff wind to take off. Like true aviators, they line up their landing approach into the wind and flare at the last second before stalling onto the ground near their nest site. It is humbling to watch them thrive in their domain. Follow me, @PaulNicklen, to see more of our planet's amazing wildlife. #nature #beauty

So good to see that humans have inspired albatrosses for their lanfing.
