Photo by Luca Locatelli @lucalocatelliphoto | Wind turbines being serviced in Calabria, southern Italy. This mostly agricultural landscape is transforming into a land aimed at energy production, feeding the growing demand for renewables.
My work revolves around the making of the future, how our society transitions through new ways of living, and how technology is changing our approach to the environment.

This is not a “renewable energy” everything made in that turbine came from industrial manufacturing, not to mention all oil/lubricants the wind turbine requires to run effectively, which is purged & refilled annually, same goes for solar panel manufacturing, the mass population does not know oil is behind everything, be sure to include that aspect, wind or solar is not the future until harvested organically.

@billmosko Russia is not your friend. Toxic masculinity is like a toxic friendship.. neither serve me any productivity. And Oklahoma, one of more conservative states has had wind turbines up near Lawton for decades. Even a fiscal conservative like myself can tell ya that. You’d think if they ain’t doing the state no good they’d pull them by now. Seem pretty useful so far.

@elena.rose.k I believe mostly, because the carbon footprint required to build one wind turbine outweighs the savings during it's useful life. Wind turbines are awesome as a visual, however in actual fact they are virtually useless, unfortunately.

Such a waste of space and eye sore! They run on fuel when there is no wind. They kill birds, drop oil because they have mechanical moving parts that need to be lubed. People are buying into this nonsense. Stop.

@coopstence the same power used to build the machines that frack, mine, and drill for gas, coal, and oil, so that argument is illogical.

No, that one is small. I can't see where you can slide thru to the hub easily, so it must be small. That and this one has a pop top.
