The wallpaper was different back then and the stall doors swung at half mast, so that one could chat to strangers while urinating. I remember the nights in here stealing kisses in stark light or pressing forehead to wall as wine filed away inhibition. I was so young. Not yet settled into all the ways and words that became and become me....fumbling, tumbling with too much speech and too much resistance. Outside, on the smoke stinking velvet couch I had meetings about scripts and met faces I’d only seen on film. Upstairs, were parties after premieres with a heart attack and Britney Spears in one room...one night..... but here, this place.....This two stall saloon rubbing walls with the kitchen was oh so safe, I could have spent the night in here in the quiet of #possibility #twenties #night #trouble #losangeles
