In this time of vital consciousness raising, I turn again to them. Pulling old books and new and asking what more they have to say, what more I should know, should do. What books, essays, poems, music and films have influenced you, pushed at you and spoken painful truths? Speaking, as Audre Lorde said to the part of each of us that “refuses to be silent.” Please share them..whatever hits you, ignites you. “We are caught in an inescapable web of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all directly.” -MLK  Where we put our feet counts. Where we put our minds, our bodies, our hearts count. The businesses we invest in matter.  What we bear silent witness to matters. Watching harmless prejudice, shrugging it off with a laugh or a turning away counts. Continued, sustained change, unraveling prejudice, holding ourselves accountable... moment by moment by moment by moment.
