I've never adult-ed harder than prepping and packing Mazzy for four weeks at sleep-away camp. SO MUCH PLANNING AND ORGANIZATION. Anyone else turn to snacking when they’ve got a big task to tackle? PRO TIP: frequent ice cream breaks make the process slower but a lot more enjoyable. @halotopcreamery makes #icecreamforadults because nobody deserves ice cream more than adults. And each pint is only 280-360 calories! #halotoppartner

@averageparentproblems Wow this is an actual thing! Cool. I’m in Finland and I only know summer camp from movies and books and as a kid I was always so intrigued and envious about it! I had to spend the summer with my grandparents and as the only child, mostly alone. My cousins started coming with me when they grew older (I’m the oldest). I send my kids to the grandparents now so the circle is complete ?

My daughter (6 yrs old) just did a sleep over camp for three nights/four days. I totally wish I would have started her at the full week. She loved it and can’t wait to go back next summer. She legit cried saying bye to her new camp friends. It’s making me teary eyed just thinking about it! Mazzy is going to love camp for sure! So excited for her!

That’s awesome!! I never got to go to sleep away camp and was always so envious of those who did. Last year though I discovered an adult sleep away camp near Denver! They planned out daily activities to include swimming, crafting, dodge ball and of course songs and s’mores by the fire! I very seriously considered it.

Wow! I’m surprised by the amount of people commenting making judgements about your family! I’m so glad that you’re capable of making decisions for your own daughter! ? This post is about snacking people! ? love some good ice cream! I’m glad you have a good and yummy snack to lean on during stressful mama times! ❤️

I worked at a camp in Connecticut one summer like this. But the kids had uniforms. We got to unpack their bags before they arrived (they got shipped in ahead) and the JOY I had in unpacking all of those perfectly labeled and sorted clothes. I never appreciated how much work those poor moms did Beforehand!

Four weeks!? I barely got it all together for a week. And then to top if off last night camp called at 9:30 to tell me he had fallen and they were taking him to emergency. 12 hours later he had been transported to a children's hospital 2 hours away and was coming out of surgery for a fractured humerus.
