Photo by Aaron Huey @argonautphoto | Duke Pederson, a cowboy I photographed near Glasgow, Montana, was a quiet, gentle giant of a man. Big enough that he could have lifted me with one hand and thrown me 20 feet if he’d wanted. This legendary cowboy controlled his cattle dogs with the slightest hand signals from a hundred meters away and was the steward of thousands upon thousands of acres of North East Montana - a land covered in grass, cows, snakes, and bones. I'm not quite sure what's become of him. I hope he's still out there riding through all that beauty. To see more images from the American West follow me, @argonautphoto.
