The journalist Paul Salopek aims to retrace the pathways blazed by the first Homo sapiens, who left Africa to discover the world about sixty thousand years ago. In six and a half years, he has covered nearly eleven thousand miles between his starting point, at an Ethiopian fossil site called Herto Bouri, and his current location, in the jungle hills of northeastern India. We will now be publishing regular dispatches from his journey, which he calls the #EdenWalk. Tap the link in our bio to read earlier pieces from the series and to learn more about the project.
