Perhaps it’s because I’ve always lived a comfortable rural life surrounded by folks that generally look like me. Perhaps it’s because to me it represents a wild abandon for exploration, for building a mighty empire, for being confident and free. My American dream has always been one of owning land, having a farmhouse and a garden, and being free to go to cities whenever I feel like it. For the past few years though I’ve seen the flag with such resentment, as if it was exclusively owned as the banner of an ignorant leaning culture, almost in the same vein as the confederate flag. Thoughts of Dixie Chicks haters and religious nut jobs bastardized my love of the flag and all things Americana. Lately I’ve found myself drawn back to a love of the flag....but it was seeing it from the view of...we can do better, we can be better, we can be authentic, and together we can help immerse everyone into living and loving a freedom for all, united we stand type world.」6月14日 22時51分
