The atolls are surrounded by coral #reefs filled with a wide range of species, and the deep waters just offshore are home to whales, dolphins, and sharks. After having it on our bucket list for ages, we finally got dive certified last year, just in time to explore the Maldives. If anyone has ever had the chance to swim with stingrays they probably know they’re very curious animals with sharp eyesight. We were swimming along a dock when a group of them quickly approached us. We managed to grab this photo right before the stingray swam over the camera and brushed along our legs. What this fails to convey is the size of these animals at nearly 2m wide and over 300kg!
