Pride flags of all kinds start to emerge like the blooming flowers & rainbows shine on the streets & in the sky. What is Pride Month? It’s a month of celebrating adversity to a community that has & continues to experience so much discrimination. A persons sexuality or identity should never lead them into experiencing hate or prejudice, but sadly they do. For all those who don’t know my bf @tboy61915 is trans. So what does that make me? A person who loves another person. I am a woman who loves a man & a damn PROUD of it! ✊🏼 . This year in June, the world honors the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, that occurred in NY. A historic time where ppl in LGBTQ community fought back against harassment & injustice from the police. Each and every time we celebrate Pride, we are giving voice to anyone who is too afraid to speak for themselves. Who cannot be honest about who they are for fear of retribution from their peers, their religious community, or even their own families. When we celebrate Pride, we remember the people who have risked their lives to live in their truth & to all those who have died bc of it. 🙏🏼 . It doesn’t take much to be a good human, to be an ally, all u need is ur voice! Stand up & speak out against bigotry when u hear it & prejudice when u see it! Being united against discrimination makes us stronger as a society- regardless of how we choose to label ourselves.
