here’s some things you can do to help the earth 🌏 add to the list with your own suggestions in the comments :) 1 • Reusable water bottles. My favourite brand is Swell but there are cheaper options on Amazon.
2 • Reusable cotton rounds for makeup removal instead of wipes. You can wash them in the washing machine, very affordable on Amazon.
3 • Glass/plastic tupperware/wax food wraps instead of sandwich bags/plastic wrap.
4 • Order in less, or find a zero/low waste meal prep service. @gomaemealprep in Van has fantastic, plant-based meal preps.
5 • Try to cut down your meat consumption, even if only one day/meal a week! Animal agriculture requires vast amounts of water, among many other problems. (cont in comments)

It is not a bad thing to change personal habits to help the environment. But focusing on this is almost ignoring the massive amount of damage companies like Exxon do that vastly outweigh any changes even hundreds of millions of individuals could do, let alone your followers. I love you, Sam. I have been following you literally since your second or third YT vid, the one with the pink brows or something like that. But personally, I feel like instead of posting about this kind of obligation to increase personal responsibility, which has been designed to get us to blame ourselves for problems truly outside our control as individual actors, it would be a better use of everyone's time to change personal habits AND point the finger to those who are *actually* destroying the environment. Otherwise, I feel you are perpetuating a dangerous blindness, a perception that ignores the root cause which is only festering with time. Please keep in mind that I am only commenting this because I think you're intelligent, empathetic, and someone who would value this kind of realness I guess. This isn't an insult to you. No disrespect is meant. I just have a personal obligation to let you and everyone know that it is policy, corrupt politicians, lobbyists from oil companies or other companies that pollute our Earth, and the companies themselves that are probably 90% of the problem. Please keep this in mind at all times.

1.) buy in bulk 2.) menstrual cups 3.) compost at home; even if you don’t have a garden, get a bin and find a local composter you can drop it off at 4.) reusable bags 5.) save fruit peals (lemon, orange etc) and put it in a glass jar with vinegar for two weeks; dilute with water and use as an all purpose cleaner to avoid using plastic cleaners and to use old fruit peals- compost after of course 6.) walk or use public transportation when you can 7.) if there’s a piece of furniture you don’t want anymore, see if you can sell it online- or even post it as free- before you junk it, a lot of people like repurposing things even if it seems beyond repair to you ?

@ssssamanthaa Thank you so much for that menstrual cup video. I’ve been curious about them for years, and your review went above and beyond and answered all my questions. Due to my health history, they are definitely not for me. Thank you for saving me from a trip to the hospital ♥️

@katieh6386 Does anyone have any idea where we can get these in Canada? Specifically Ontario lol. I never actually thought of dryer sheets and I’m always thinking of ways to reduce waste. I mean I air dry most of the time but it’s good for the winter as well. What a good suggestion.

I wish restaurants, especially fast food, let you bring your own cups. A lot of places use styrofoam cups and it’s such a waste! I’m guilty of buying bottled water for work because I hate the taste of tap water in my area. I plan to purchase a Brita for work and home.

You can get tree-free tissues, toilet paper, and paper towels! I’m ordering from The Grove Collaborative but I’m sure you can find them other places. Also, I try to buy used or ethical clothing as much as possible and limit impulse buying from fast fashion brands
