I took it during my first trip to Antarctica in 1997. To me, it is the most symbolic picture I’ve ever taken. That trip totally changed my life. I went from being an expert in finance and accounting to becoming a passionate conservation photographer. I always felt I left a piece of my heart on that trip to Antarctica. Ever since, I go back every year to check on it. Year after year, I’ve been documenting the changes and impact of climate change in such a delicate and important ecosystem.
