Zach was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2009 ... but doctors thought he had overcome it ...... but this past January doctors realized that was not the case.. And it got worse and worse ...... but that’s not what I’m here to talk about. That evening we got to spend time with Zach and his family and get to know him ... we spent time with a bright eyed 19 year old kid who should’ve had his entire life ahead of him. He was all there.... his mindset and attitude would’ve suggested he was any 19 year old kid. Physically because of this horrible disease he had some set backs. But he was as cognizant as any 19 year old we’d ever met even tho this horrible thing was in his brain. Brent walked around with him backstage most of the night and he hung out in the dressing room with us most of the night and told us about his love of music, Shinedown, and video games. We were told it was his last wish to meet us ...... At 19 years old you should never have a “last wish.” Myself, being from Memphis, have been working with St Jude for 16 years because of this reason alone. Kids shouldn’t have to deal with this. Or their parents ...... That night Zach and his family watched the show from sidestage and had a blast. It was fun watching him react to the show and it was a great day meeting him. We got word a few weeks ago that Zach was done fighting with this horrible disease. He didn’t LOSE a battle. He was just done fighting ....... and it’s a sad thing. Tonight we play in Madison Wisconsin ... where Zach was from. Tonight is for Zach .... tonight is for his brother Gavin .... and tonight is for his mother Miranda. On March 8th we were blessed enough to meet a young man named Zach Olson and his family.

Tonight we play in Madison Wisconsin ... where Zach was from.

Tonight is for Zach .... tonight is for his brother Gavin .... and tonight is for his mother Miranda.
