I say this because he was my friend, and he was also a massive part of our SHINEDOWN Family. I met Randy over 20 years ago when we were just beginning to start touring for our first album. I recall that we were doing a promotion tour for all of mainstream Rock Radio, and Active Rock/Alternative Radio. We were traveling all over North America meeting program directors in every state, and every city that would have us, and allow us to come into the studio, and talk about our band, and perform live on the air. Now for the most part, these visits would be pretty standard a quick interview maybe we would play a song or two and then we would be on to the next city, and to the next radio station. Until we got to Chattanooga. I remember arriving at the studio @chattarock105 and meeting Randy in the lobby, and the very first thing he said to me after he shook my hand was let’s get you guys on the air. I want to see if you can really sing these songs live.🤣… He was a force of nature, he was intelligent, quick witted, charismatic, full of musical, knowledge, and the history of rock ‘n’ roll. He was also incredibly funny, and a giant personality on air … It was no surprise that we became friends instantly. In the course of the last two decades, he has been one of the most important people in our lives, and in the music business. He championed our band from day one, and always supported us and believed in us. He was the real deal on every level and he was and will forever be a massive advocate for Rock Radio. He was rock ‘n’ roll to the bone, “or should I say Boner”😂 “Trust me, he would laugh at that” We will miss him dearly… But will forever keep his memory alive.
