Here are the 25 Republican Alabama state senators trying to criminalize women’s reproductive rights NATIONALLY by challenging Roe v Wade at state level (only 7 of the 74 AL Republican state reps who voted in favor of HB314 are women, including the woman who introduced the bill). Some people think politics is boring or useless or depressing or feel that ordinary people have no power in it. Some people even craft complicated self-victimizing theories to justify not getting involved, even to justify not voting. These backward-leaning Alabamans don’t think that way. If you’re good with them using their worldview, religious beliefs and will to control your choices & freedoms, then lay back and let them do their thing. If you’re not ok with that, keep informed about and fully engaged in politics and encourage everyone you know to do the same. At the very least, vote. Alabama was the state where they cracked John Lewis's skull while he advocated for voting rights for the disenfranchised - others were killed. Power to determine state and national law meant that much to those who perpetrated that violence. They were cut from the same cloth as these Republicans. They want you disengaged from the process. They want you to feel powerless. Don’t give in to them. Fight them. Win.

tucker_gayle It amazes me how republicans and Trump lovers want less government but yet they feel they have the right to tell a woman what she can and can not do with their bodies. At the end of the day is not about their religious beliefs it’s about control. I honestly feel that if a man can tell a woman what to do with their body than women should demand the same thing. For every male rapist, child pedophile, dead beat dead we should have laws put in place mandatory castration.

They're trying to minimize voter impact and disenfranchise voters which is why the Senate wants to let the bill die. I'm encouraging people to contact their senators and insist on an end to the gerrymandering, etc so that between now and 2020, we can be hopefully have more confidence in the election process.
