“Budapest is almost empty of workers.” Businesses are scrambling for workers in Hungary, where Prime Minister Viktor Orban, a fierce nationalist, has limited work permits for foreigners and rails against immigrants. The labor shortage in the country has grown so acute that the government recently pushed through a contentious bill to address it.
