We all know they are over fished around the world, so let’s skip the most important part - WHAT CAN YOU DO? When you are purchasing tuna, you can favorise products that weren’t caught using FADS (fishing aggregation device), but rather alternative fishing methods such as pole and line (the most sustainable method apart from Spearfishing!!), trolling, hand-lines and free-school (FADs tree). You can search for “FADs free” or “pole and line” labels or labels that are backed by actual science like @mscbluefish. Some labels try to mislead you so you have to look for credible ones and do your research! Nonetheless, reducing consumption is definitely the most recommended. They are a lot of other species you can discover at your fishmonger. Most of my favorite fish, I didn’t know they existed before I started fishing!
