No need to say that I was served with a disapproving look the second he knew what I was doing for a living, but that doesn’t keep me from respecting the work he’s doing towards conservation. He is taking extreme measures to try and find solutions to an extreme situation and while I do not agree with all of his methods, he is actively working towards ocean conservation and he has saved and continues to save thousands of cetaceans over the years. Whereas veganism is on the rise (and it’s a good thing!), the probability that 7 billion people will stop consuming fish and seafood is practically inexistant. By dismissing talks on realistic and viable solutions such as sustainable fishing methods, reduction of consumption of sea products and the right ways of farming fish, it creates, an even bigger gap between consumers who want to do the right thing and what’s offered to them. We don’t have to all agree with each other, but we need to be able to have respectful discussions, because in the end, that's where everything starts.
