Photo by @bertiegregory | A black bear comes out on to the rocky shore at low tide as the sun burst through the fog filled forest. The lives of many of the bears than live on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, are ruled by the tides. As the tide drops and the water retreats, it reveals a seafood feast. On this particular section of boulder covered beaches, this bear is on the hunt for crabs. Using its incredible strength (these rocks are really heavy, I’ve tried!), the bears flip the rocks over one by one and eat what they find underneath.
