Volodymyr Zelensky, one of the most famous comedians in #Ukraine, is known as the guy who plays the President on television. Now he's poised to be the real thing. As Simon Shuster recently reported, Zelensky—photographed in his dressing room after a sketch show performance in Kiev on March 13—had been the front runner in the race since January; in March, he handily beat his most experienced challenger, Yulia Tymoshenko. Results from the runoff election on April 21 showed him winning in a landslide—reportedly about three of every four ballots—over the incumbent, Petro Poroshenko, a candy magnate who has led the country through five years of conflict with Russia.
