At least 207 people were killed, and hundreds more were injured, after a series of coordinated blasts rocked churches and hotels in and just outside #SriLanka’s capital on Easter Sunday. The country's Defense Minister, Ruwan Wijewardene, described the blasts as a terrorist attack by religious extremists, telling reporters on April 21 that seven suspects had been arrested, @apnews reports. There has not yet been a claim of responsibility. Six nearly simultaneous blasts toppled ceilings and blew out windows at a famous Catholic church in Colombo, as well as at three luxury hotels in the capital; two others occurred at a church in Negombo, a majority Catholic town north of Colombo, and at the Protestant Zion church in the eastern town of Batticaloa.
