My heart breaks to think of even a single part of this structure being damaged or affected by this tragedy. I was there just a week ago and took so many photos of the interior, because as with any great cathedral of this size and magnitude it’s impossible to capture with any one shot, any one angle. Everywhere you look, in every direction, it takes your breath away— up, down, from every corner, this is a masterpiece, the purest expression of spirit on a physical plane. We are reminded of other worlds as we stand under the stained glass, with colors seen no where else in history. Notre Dam is a place to commune with the highest expression of “God” as expressed through architecture, and as a result we are elevated by its very presence. To the people of #France, of #Paris and all citizens of the world, this is a heartbreaking moment. Let us pray for this mighty treasure, this manifestation of spirit in the form of a cathedral.
