It’s so unhealthy but it’s okay I used to do the same it’s normal we just have to teach our brain a different behavior.  _ Have you ever heard of the “5 by 5 rule”? From now on when things go bad or something happens to you I want you to try and close your eyes and silently say to yourself “5 by 5” which means “If it’s not going to matter in 5 years, don’t spend more than 5 minutes being upset by it.” _ Being upset uses up so much of your energy and every morning we are all given only so much energy. Be greedy and aware of where your spending your personal energy. Prioritize your energy and where you place it.  _ This will take practice but once you master it I promise your going to feel so much better. I used to let small things that weren’t going to matter in even 5 days ruin my WEEK, sometimes my MONTH. Just overthinking situations and other people’s behavior towards me.  _ As I look back on it now I laugh at how crazy it was. I spent so much time wrapped into emotion based on someone else’s behavior and the truth is I can’t control how someone else treats me. I can control how I react to it though. Now, I am back in control of myself, my energy and my life and I’m so much better for it.  _ Right now, I challenge you to take this on, think of when and where you need to use the 5 by 5 rule.
