Our Batman, who art in Gotham, cowled be thy mane! Happy Birthday, Batman! I celebrated #batman80 by reading every other story in #detectivecomics1000 that wasn’t the 8 pager I wrote and the genius @jimlee drew! It’s a Bat-tastic issue from cover to cover, honoring the greatest person who never lived! Thank you to @dccomics for including me, so I could not only add another spoke to the Batmobile’s wheels, but also kinda make up for having Batman piss himself years back in my mini-series #thewideninggyre (though, to be fair, that bit was rooted in firefighting fact, imparted by former fireman @bqquinn )! The guy who has spent years babbling about the Bat on #fatmanonbatman and #fatmanbeyond was thrilled to be involved in any way with this landmark 1000th issue! Batman has given so much to me, the least I could do was give him the most emotional storytelling I could muster. @thatkevinsmith can you please start a petition against @robertpattinsonofficial as batman?! We need a real Dark Knight, the Batman Beyond tale would be perfect!!! Bring back @michaelkeatondouglas as old Bruce Wayne. Have @joshhartnettofficial, @aarontaylorjohnson, or @nicholashoult play Terry McGinnis!Jon Hamm or @armiehammer would be other options as Mr. Wayne💣

@thatkevinsmith Just read your batman story. Brilliant! The minute I saw @jimlee 's stunning detailed work I knew it was your story. You guys are amazing and you really should do a longer running feature together. Do it for the Bat 🦇

@thatkevinsmith finally got to read Detective 1000 and your story was easily one of the most brilliant Batman stories I've ever read. Incredible amount of heart and character study in all of 8 pages.
