Did you know that Great White Sharks are curious creatures and don’t have HANDS! That’s right, sharks do NOT have hands....so they have to test things with their mouths! They come up and nibble on boat motors, backs of boats and even the backs of surfboards with yellow bottoms. They DO have eyes and they 100% see color. I’ve tested this theory personally by wearing different colored wetsuits to see if the sharks reacted to the different colors. Sure Enough they did. What color did they seem to like the best? YELLOW without question and my guess would be that yellow fin tuna is one of their preferred snacks. Yellow rope on the cage, I know that’s not a perfect example, but trust me when I tell you they 100% were more interested in the yellow wetsuit then any of the black ones. So if you are free diving or abalone diving or surfing, AVOID wearing or using anything YELLOW in waters that Great Whites frequent.
