In Guatemala, an astonishing 17% of forest cover has been lost from clearance for palm plantations, cattle, grazing, rubber and sugarcane. The land is eroded, leaving wildlife without a habitat and local communities at risk of disasters like landslides after heavy rains. So what can be done? In 2016, Lush bought a 225 hectare former cattle ranch in Izabal, Guatemala and we've slowly been turning it back into a jungle where we grow organic ingredients for our products like cocoa, vanilla, avocado and coconut.
