Dutchwoman Carolijn Brouwer is set to rewrite sailing’s record books. The 45-year-old is on track to become the first woman in history to helm an America’s Cup challenger yacht after being named in the inaugural Dutch team to compete for the Auld Mug in 2021. Brouwer, a two-time world sailor of the year, said that while she’s happy to be a trailblazer, that’s not why she’s doing it. “I am doing it because sailing is my passion, I am super competitive and I want to win,” she said. #IWD2019
