Every Tuesday evening, elementary school principal Belinda George sits in front of her fireplace and reads bedtime stories to her students over Facebook Live in an effort to boost their test scores. “Tucked-in Tuesdays,” started late last year after less than half of George’s third-grade class, and 60% of her fourth-grade class passed the state-mandated reading test. “They watch me read with emotion and make the book come alive.
