On #IWD2019, The Prince of Wales paid tribute to women making a difference throughout Africa during a reception to mark the launch of @amrefhealthafrica’s 'Health in Her Hands' project.
HRH, Patron of charity @amrefhealthafrica, said during the event held today at Clarence House: "It is entirely fitting that today, on #InternationalWomensDay, we should gather to celebrate the women who have devoted their lives to improving the health of their communities. Women play an indispensable role in the health and the future of their families and, by extension, their communities.
“The ‘Health in Her Hands’ campaign is a clear demonstration of Amref’s unique approach to development – one that is led by Africa voices, with people telling their own stories, identifying their own needs and developing their own solutions in the pursuit of better health and wellbeing.”
