I am a power sprinter. It’s pretty common that many people assume that athletes or individuals who workout often don’t have insecurities about their body in anyway. And that’s the furthest thing from the truth. ⁣ •⁣ It’s true, as athletes we need our body to perform in our specialized event or sport but that doesn’t mean that we never compare or have times where we wish one or several parts about our body could be different. ⁣ •⁣ At every stage of my life I was told different things would help me to be “faster”. One year, it was “you need to slim down”, another it’s “no you’re a power sprinter being bigger is better”. I can admit that I too get caught up in it. Last year, I was so panicked about being “too heavy and not lean enough”, I went on an extreme diet, completely cutting out carbs and overdid everything to see “instant results” which made me become anemic and I re-injured myself again.⁣ •⁣ I envied those who could eat whatever they wanted and not gain a single pound. They must have no worries, I thought. I too learned that they have insecurities as well. Most of us do.⁣ •⁣ If you think I have it all figured out, well I don’t. But I am learning about healthy BALANCE and fine tuning little things that will benefit MY BODY to be the best version of me instead of trying to re-create a new body with drastic and unhealthy methods. It’s yours for a reason, and we can’t all look the same. If you feel good, then you probably are good ??. I am a power sprinter. #trackgirltuesday⁣ ⁣ ⁣
